For the third season of AMC’s Mad Men, my team at Deep Focus and I were tasked to come up with a digital execution that would give passionate fans of the show something to dig into while broadcasting their excitement to social.

That solution was Mad Men Yourself, an avatar creator that was the viral hit of the summer. Illustrator and Mad Men superfan Dyna Moe provided the character looks, and my team created an immersive experience that has been visited millions of times, generated tons of fantastic press, led to great premiere night numbers, and was updated and rolled out year after year as the seasons progressed.
